Mayan Abdominal Massage

Mayan Abdominal Massage is an ancestral healing practice used by Maya healers and midwives to support reproductive, digestive, and overall wellness. This traditional therapy works by gently guiding the abdominal organs into optimal position, helping improve circulation and body function. In Guatemala, it is often combined with herbs and other traditional healing practices such as the Temazcal (wet sauna) or vaginal and prostate steam baths. The Maya also view the abdomen as a powerful energetic center, and this work is believed to help restore balance when emotional or energetic blockages are present. After the session, a traditional cloth called a faja may be wrapped around the abdomen to help maintain support and alignment.

This treatment may help with:

  • Digestive discomfort and sluggish digestion

  • Reproductive and hormonal health

  • Pelvic and abdominal tension

  • Circulation and organ alignment

  • Emotional or energetic imbalance

  • Post-treatment core support using a traditional faja

Returning to the Sacred Center

Working with the abdomen can help re-establish a sense of safety within the body. The belly is one of the most vulnerable areas of the human form, and approaching it with gentleness and respect can help rebuild trust between mind and body. During the session the nervous system relaxes and people often experience a feeling of grounding, steadiness, and reconnection with themselves.

Two-Day Ancestral Healing Ceremony

This practice is gentle yet profound, offering space to release what has been held, restore natural flow, and return to harmony with the body’s innate rhythms. Guided with reverence and care, this experience honors the physical, emotional, and energetic layers of being.

In addition to a private abdominal massage, there is an option for a two part ceremonial journey rooted in ancestral Maya wisdom—an immersion devoted to remembering the intelligence of the womb and abdomen as sacred centers of life, intuition, and healing. When held with a group, it is optimal for 6-8 participants only to keep a safe, quiet and intimate container.

Yoni/Pelvic Steaming Ceremony

Mayan Abdominal Self-Massage

This is an ancestral ritual of purification, nourishment, and reconnection. While the participant is wrapped in blankets, warm herbal steam rises gently to the womb and pelvic space, inviting softness, circulation, and deep listening within the body.

This practice is not only physical—it is also energetic. In many traditions, the womb is understood as a keeper of memory, creativity, and emotion. Through warmth, breath, and intention, the steam creates space for release and renewal, supporting a reconnection with the body’s natural wisdom.

Participants are guided to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with the creative and intuitive essence that lives within the pelvic bowl.

This day is offered as a guided self-massage journey, inviting you into an intimate exploration of your own abdomen. Through slow, intentional touch, you are guided to listen to the language of the gut—meeting areas of tension, holding, softness, or quiet with presence and compassion.

Rather than being worked on, participants become active in their own healing—cultivating trust and relationship with their inner landscape.

This deeply nourishing practice offers a rare opportunity to experience self-touch as an intimate ceremony - getting to explore around your digestive organs and areas of tension using your fingers as eyes into your own gut region.
